Bringing over thirty years experience of avionics systems and software engineering to bear on your problems.

Experience on projects ranging from the Typhoon Helmet Mounted Sight to the National Resilience Extranet, covers the whole lifecycle, from bid through to delivery and customer sign-off, and the underlying processes that engineering businesses need to support the engineering functions.

Consultant

Working with Systems Capability teams and projects to define product engineering lifecycles, with particular responsibility for configure engineering CASE tools to meet company requirements. Liaison with IT department and back-office support to meet project requirements. High Performance Computing cluster development and management.

Worked with a number of clients ranging from multi-national defence companies to local businesses, offering consultancy and support in systems/software engineering and web development/maintenance.

Project Management

Project managed trials and installation of network infrastructure for the British Army Land Systems Reference Centre. Project planning on safety critical software certification projects. Project financial management and control. Programme planning. Team leading and Bid preparation. Support to marketing department in bid preparation and delivery, including two successful bids.

Systems Engineering

Specification of network infrastructures, and avionics hardware. Requirements development for national infrastructure emergency response systems. Systems verification and validation and preparation of compliance evidence. Functional design for avionics systems on various aircraft platforms (military and commercial). Agile methods.

Concept of operations and HMI for cockpit displays and controls. Systems integration between avionics subsystems.

Software engineering

Software development on web-based collaborative working environments and national infrastructure projects. Agile methods.

Embedded avionics software development to DO-178b and defence standards. Realtime embedded software development of petrol forecourt systems for various commercial clients. Maintenance of in-house soak test software.

Development of displays and controls software for Typhoon helmet mounted sight.

Transverse activities

Security accreditation and liaison with infosec. RMADS preparation. Availability, Reliability and Maintainability calculations. Sfatye and Hazard Analysis.
